Big Spring, Texas
Big Spring, Texas
Big Spring honors its
Comanche heritage
with a trail arrow
in Comanche Trail
Park. Both Comanche and Shawnee Indians claimed rights to a
nearby spring on Sulphur Draw. The town is named for the “big spring.”
THESE TAN-COLORED COUNTIES ARE
ALSO PART OF TEXAS. THEY BELONG TO
THE PECOS TRAIL REGION -- NOT A FOREIGN COUNTRY.
Quanah Parker Trail arrows are great places for taking pictures.
Debbie Wegman and Debbye ValVerde pose against a cold blue winter sky to have their picture made with Big Spring’s arrow on the day it was installed, Jan. 12, 2012.
TRAIL TRIVIA:
THE 22-FOOT-TALL ARROW WENT INTO PLACE IN JUST SEVEN MINUTES, THE FASTEST INSTALLATION TIME ON RECORD UNTIL BROKEN BY SYNDER!
