Matador Arrow Dedication
Matador Arrow Dedication
Saturday, October 15, 2011
The top of Matador’s Quanah Parker Trail arrow catches the late afternoon sun. Standing nearby are Ardith Parker-Leming in her buckskin wedding dress, Dink Wilson in his cowboy hat and Glenn Leming in Comanche headwear.
Matador’s arrow stands north of the Motley County Courthouse, not far from the old jail, where Wilson lived as a child when his father was sheriff.
Matador dedicated the arrow with a program that included a Comanche blessing of the arrow and a presentation from enactor Annalon Gilbreath as Molly Goodnight telling the story of her life with Charles Goodnight, a friend of Quanah Parker.
