A group gathered December 19, 2010,
Don Parker, Lance Tahmahkera, Lane Tahmakera and Juanita Pahdopony, all descendants of Cynthia Ann and her son, Chief Quanah, gathered to mark the day with a sacred ceremony, including the burning of dried juniper, the singing of songs in Comanche and the sharing of
dried meat.
