Two Arrows mark

the Trail in

    Hereford ...

Comanche Indians guided some very early European explorers across the plains along Tierra Blanca Creek, which runs through present-day Deaf Smith County. The region was part of Comanche hunting grounds.

One arrow stands tall on the lawn of the Deaf Smith County Courthouse, 235 E. 3rd Street, and the other can be seen at Stanton Learning Center, 711 E. Park Avenue.
