Easter and Dimmitt Lions Clubs helped Dimmitt acquire the arrow -- installed Aug.29, 2014 and dedicated Sept.6, 2014 -- to recognize the presence of the Comanche and other Plains Indians in the area before the arrival of settlers. The discovery of artifacts has confirmed the presence of native peoples in the region. Also, Comanchero Trail followed Running Water Draw.
